14.8V BYPASS REGULATOR: The 14.8V bypass regulator disconnects the factory alternator plug and allows the alternator to run at a steady higher voltage (up around 14.8V) instead of the stock 13.6–14.4V range. It uses a simple two‑wire hookup: the blue wire goes to the alternator power stud, and the yellow wire goes to a switched 12V source. Because the vehicle can no longer control the alternator’s voltage, the battery light will typically turn on, which is normal for a bypass setup. The bypass regulator is a standard in getting top performance at safe voltage levels.
